MEC Day 16: Best Antagonist

"The halfling was dear to thee I see. Know that he suffered greatly at the hands of his host. Who would have thought that one so small could endure so much pain. And he did Gandalf, he did."

The good peoples of Middle-Earth come across many great enemies during their adventures.

By name...
Sauron
Saruman the White
Azog the Defiler
Goblin King
Witch King
Gothmog
Shelob
Shagrat
Lurtz
Gorbag
Gollum
Mouth of Sauron
Yazneg

By race...
Orcs
Uruk-Hai
Haradrim
Southrons
Goblins
Wargs
Spiders
Oliphants
Trolls

And so many more!

Let me tell you, it was hard to pick a best antagonist. But I did, for the sake of the challenge. And yes, I think he's horribly disgusting and vulgar, but I mostly picked this one because he's the most quotable.

The Great Goblin King

Goblin King: Well, well, well, look who it is! Thorin, son of Thrain, son of Thror, King under the mountain! Oh, but I'm forgetting, you don't have a moutain, and you're not a king, which makes you nobody, really.

~*~*~*~*~

Thorin: Azog the Defiler is no more. He was slain in battle long ago!

Goblin King: So you think his defiling days are done, do you?

~*~*~*~*~

Goblin King: Did you think you could escape me? (throws Gandalf back) What are you gonna do now, Wizard?

(Gandalf slashes Glamdring through the Goblin King's throat and belly)

Goblin King: That'll do it.
