Theme In F Major

(To be truthful, I filled this tag out over a month ago, but I am just getting around to posting it. Bear with me here, please. Since my long absence from blogger in the last few weeks I've found a bunch of random posts tucked away in my drafts and now I'm working on getting them all published.)

I saw this music tag over at Maria's blog, and if you know anything about me, I love music. I loved this tag and absolutely had to do it. Let's just say that in my family, music is our occupational hazard.

Okay, this is the seventh song from the Gettysburg soundtrack that I've gotten. I'm starting to wonder about my shuffle settings... Anywho, Little Round Top makes me cry? That would be one of the things that might, if I cried more.

Wow, how fitting to finish off with an original composition! This song I actually wrote in about all of five minutes, but I was still pleased with how it turned out. Now to put it into an instrumental arrangement where it doesn't sound fake and electronic. And if you want to listen to it, it's right here.

The Wordless Something I Promised You All...

I have met so many lovely bloggers (virtually met, of course; I have not yet had that honor of actually meeting them face to face, something I long to do) who write swell novels and pen eloquent poetry. And, ah, yes! I, too, love to write! However, my writing is not limited only to novels and poetry. Never fear, I am not talking of writing recipes. I am quite a disaster in the kitchen and I would never dream of writing something of my own creation and knowledge that involved cooking. 


No, indeed. Recipes still contain words, and I promised you all something wordless. I am, in fact, speaking of writing music. 


Yes, I said "music."


I know what you all must be thinking: she writes novels, poetry... and music? Well, when you love music, good music, as much as I do, you can't help but try to plunk out your own little tunes on the piano whenever you get the chance. I know I can't help it. 


Please note, I am in no way, shape, or form trying to compare myself to Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart. I know my music will never compare to real classics. I wanted to post this so that I might learn your opinion of it. 


This tune bears a dull name of "C Theme." I've only called it that because I wrote the song in the key of C. I know it needs a better name, but I haven't thought one up yet. If you think of any suggestions, please do not hesitate to share them! I apologize in advance for the electronic "annoyingness" of the piano. I have not figured out yet how to incorporate speed and dynamics into the music writing program that I use. When I play this song, I like to play it a bit slower than it is portrayed here.
