You're Invited!!

What: A 30 Day Middle-Earth Challenge

Who: Everyone is invited to participate (even if you don't feel like doing the entire challenge, or if you don't have a blog)!

Where: Here on Lianne Taimenlore and my excellent friend Melody's blog, The Splendor Falls on Castle Walls

When: The entire month of November, from the 1st all the way to the 30th

Why: A few months ago, Melody and I came across a picture on Pinterest of a 30 Day Lord of the Rings Challenge, and we both decided that we'd love to be able to do something like that. However, at the time, we were both too busy to do anything with that idea, so we swapped a few emails and decided to wait until the great month of November, in preparation of The Desolation of Smaug coming out in theaters in December, and that instead of only doing LOTR things, we'd incorporate all things Hobbit as well as the rest of Middle-Earth just because we love all of it. We'd love to see you join us!

Below are buttons for you to share the challenge. I apologize that I wasn't able to get the HTML code to perfection so you could simply copy and paste onto your blogs and Pinterest pages, so instead, I'm going to ask you to save the buttons to your computer, add them to your sidebar or Pinterest as a picture, and then link to either my blog (Lianne Taimenlore) or Melody's blog (The Splendor Falls on Castle Walls). Thank you so much!

If you have any questions, please feel free to post a comment! Hope to see you all there!

God bless!

  3. Eeeeeeee!!! LotR challenge! *flails* But...but...November is going to be soooo busy for me due to NaNo. *cringes* I'll have to see if I can do it or not. Would it work if I just did some of the questions but skip some if I have to?

    1. Lauriloth ~ Even if you find time just to do one day, that's fine. We're leaving this totally up to you, as far as how much you do or not do. I'm going to be posting more about the event later this month, but Melody covered just about all the basics, so if you want to pop over to her blog to read her post, you can find that here: http://thesplendorfalls.blogspot.com/

  6. This sounds like a blast! Would it be alright if I grouped multiple questions into fewer posts, like every three or four days per'aps? (I would be careful not to get ahead of the schedule.)

Really looking forward to this! =D

  7. Howdy! Sorry for so randomly commenting on your blog. I don't believe we've met before. I'm Anna. Hullooo! :) *cough* Anyway... as I am a bit of a Ringer, myself, {more like a *giant* Ringer} I feel it is my duty to take part in this challenge. On November 1st, I shall join thee.

    Anna ;)

    1. *extends hand of welcome* Hi, Anna! I'm Kiri! You're a Ringer? Instant new friend! :D

Haha! I know! I'm what my family calls the vast depository of Tolkien knowledge, so I knew I couldn't pass up an opportunity to do a challenge like this! Thanks so much for joining us!

  8. Sounds like SO MUCH FUN! I don't blog much anymore, but this is too awesome to pass up, so I think I'll just be putting up a picture every day with my answers on Pinterest.

    1. Maria, Pinterest sounds great! I hadn't even thought of people doing it that way, but it's an awesome idea! I'd only ask that you share the link to which board you'd do the challenge on so that I could include your name and link in the final wrap-up post. Thanks!!

  9. Sounds so fun! I don't know if I'll be able to participate, thanks to my LOTR read-along and trying to do NaNoWriMo and such. But I'll put your button up on my blog, both to remind me and to let my followers know, okay?

    1. Hey, Hamlette! Thanks for sharing our button! And yup, I know exactly what you mean about November being busy. 50K words in 30 days tends to take up a lot of time!
