You were my first shiny new follower since I had reviewed a book and the author decided to follow me, and I was so excited!

And you know, you actually managed to find a fairy tale I didn't already know in The Riddle. Huh, I guess they do exist ...

Oh, and crochet is easy. You're just dealing with one stitch at a time, and only one needle. It lends itself far better to complicated projects like cloaks, muffs, and ice cream cones. I actually may or may not do more of that than actual knitting.Kendra E. I was just thinking through and couldn't remember any theme issues with The Book Thief, so I was curious.

That's probably the worst, when there's iffy themes in something that's so awesome... because at least you can black out language on the page. You can't really do much about themes.Jessy Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10783837388867631595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5328638743833934975.post-29713043893921231432014-07-25T13:15:18.105-04:002014-07-25T13:15:18.105-04:00Thanks for your comment, Jessy!

There are other books that I love that have iffy themes. I can't think of any of the top of my head right now.Kirsten Fichterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01887462858049277918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5328638743833934975.post-63855124577371715612014-07-25T12:18:15.407-04:002014-07-25T12:18:15.407-04:00I must say, I like how you chose Mary Poppins'...I must say, I like how you chose Mary Poppins' bag as an item to bring. Genius.

The Book Thief, you say? I love that book. Though I do agree about the wanted to rewrite some books (including this one) due to language. More just editing the language out... but anyway.

I have a question: when you said you would want to rewrite The Book Thief because of themes, what themes would that be?

the writeress @ barefoot in the snowJessy Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10783837388867631595noreply@blogger.com
